Friends stamp by Meddle689 Friends stamp by Meddle689
I hate it when people refer to me as an "online friend". It's kind of insulting actually, like they don't even care enough about me to think of me as an actual friend, but rather just some random guy they know online. I know that's not always the case with the term, but that's just how I interpret it.

Anyone else out their who cares about their FRIENDS can use this stamp as well. :3 Enjoy!

FAQ #80: Can I add thumbnails to my journal?

:iconnattytakacs: Has been my friend on here for more than a few months now. I think a year actually. She was the first person I met on Deviantart.

And if an "online friend", shes a pretty awesome one.

I don't see how calling people your 'online friends' would be offending though. I just use the term when referring to those of my friends that I know only online..

That doesn't mean I consider them any less of real friends, though. In fact, my online friends are much better friends to me than /anyone/ I know in real life.

I just wish my parents would understand and accept that.. But it seems that they think as long as I haven't met someone in real life they are not 'real'. Sigh..

I carefully differentiate these two from each other.
"On the internet no one know you're a dog." I don't know anything about you people on the internet, except your writing style and a username. (and on dA, a shit ton of drawings as well).  When I talk to a person online, can't know if or what they are faking, as I can't read any emotions in facial expressions and voice tones. I can't know what the real intentions, their real thoughts behind their words are. They can write "oh, you're funny! x3" but actually whisper in real life "oh gosh, not this story again. Please stop with this." Everyone who says "Hey, I am 14 and female! :meow:" Can be 49, male, married in real life.

I won't completely be sure wether or not the persons at the other side of the screen are really my friends until I have met them in person. But once I met them offline, they aren't just my "online" friends anymore anyway.
